C’est la Vie! The “skwa” Mara

By 02/08/2014Mara-contest

Hi there, Compagnie M. lovers! Sophie here from C’est la vie.
I am so honored to be part of this Mara Tour. I had great fun sewing this blouse as the Mara pattern is a very quick and easy pattern. I love the retro look it has in common with all the other patterns created by Compagnie M.

For my Mara, I chose this print by April Rhodes from her amazing collection: Arizona. I had shorts for my girl in another print from the same collection I wanted to match.

I used amber solid for the front, and a dark blue solid to make a bias instead of the piping. I am usually a piping girl, but they din’t have any in the right color at my local store.

The buttons are the cutest thing: blue flowers with a little shinny “diamond” in the middle: as you can imagine they were chosen by my daughter!

My girl is obsessed with horses and loves to predend she is a native American!! This Mara and the shorts create the perfect outfit for my little “Skwa”!! All it takes is a dreamcatcher and an bow and arrow to complete the outfit!

We love this blouse at home and I can imagine there will be many more. The Mara blouse is a quick project with a great impact. It creates an eye catching garment and there are so many options! I think the next one will be a dress version: the Mara dresses I have seen on this blog have truly inspired me!

Thank you Marte for inviting me to this tour! I am so glad to have sewn my own version of your gorgeous blouse!
