This dress is one of those projects that inspired me to use the Roma dress pattern one day. I can tick this one from my ‘to-sew-list’. Check!
When I received the Lotte Martens fabrics that belong to the textile box from Le Chaperon Unlimited, I wanted to know straight away if it was possible to sew this dress with the small piece I had in hands.
The deadline was rather tight so I started drawing the dress pattern myself (with the ‘basic dress’ from SVDH 1 as a starting point). I had just a very tinny piece left, but it turned out the perfect dimensions for my idea.
The shape of the collar turned out a bit more ‘straight’ but I like the result anyway. :)
I combined the Pattini fabric with a basic jeans style one from Jo De Visscher. Both fabrics are rather thick, so the perfect match for a wide gathered skirt.
Some extra golden piping (a left-over from this project) was enough to convince Lisa immediately that she looked like a princess. I love this fact that the dress is basic and chique at the same time. This way she can wear it for school & for special occasions. With the golden sandals she borrowed from Nore, she was ready to go to a B-day party!

Je dochter showt haar jurkje echt wel met een groots respect voor dat speciale stofje! Groter hoefde het Lotte-Martensstukje niet te zijn. Het komt zo wel héél mooi tot zijn recht. ♥
De communiejurk van mijn dochter was ook de Roma (sterrenstofbykatrien.blogspot.be/1 mei 2015 een terugblik) ! Fantastisch feestelijk patroon, instant prinsesmateriaal ! En voor vorig nieuwjaar maakte ik er eentje vergelijkbaar met het jouwe (andere stof als tussenstuk), maar haalde enkel ig en niet de blog 😊

Heel erg mooi, Marte! Een perfecte combinatie. Ik overtuigde ooit Nele om dat patroontje te naaien omdat ik het zó mooi vind en zelf geen dochters heb :-) Het blijft een favorietje van mij.
Die gouden paspel komt daar helemaal tot zijn recht! Ik ben ook zo’n fan van de Roma Dress, maar ik wacht op een kindje waarvoor ik hem kan naaien. (Ik steek hem steeds wat vooruit in de patroonsuggesties, maar tot nu toe kozen ze allemaal zelfverzekerd iets anders…) Heel tof idee om daarvoor de minipaneeltjes te gebruiken! En wat een mooie fotolocatie.
Wonderful! That bodice is just awesome, the shape and of course the fabric and piping! I love it!!
And the third picture made me smile!! What a pretty girl with a beautiful laugh!!
Dat mini paneeltje, dat patroon… ♥ voor de combinatie daarvan met jouw guitige dochter!
Ook zo hard fan van de Roma dress! Jouw combinatie van stoffen en goud heeft mij nog meer overtuigd! Lila moet een Roma in haar kast krijgen :-)
