I’m really happy to post my very first coat: coat nr 1! Hopefully there are some more to follow. I’m optimistic. The last couple of weeks I’ve been studying a great book: metric pattern cutting by Winifred Aldrich. At first I wanted to start with a basic t-shirt, but by the time I realised that I was drawing the over garment block, I changed plans and made a new coat for Lisa.
To be honest, I’m happy that things turned out differently. The coat fits very well so I’m working very hard to make a free pattern of this coat for all of my sewing colleagues. I’ll post the version for 2 year old girls soon and other sizes should follow. I just don’t know where to start first: I have so much plans, ideas, work,… A day should count some more hours! Of course I’m happy with some feedback and if you have nice ideas for some variances please let me know. I’ll be making coat nr. 2 (a red one) for Nore soon. The fabric is waiting to be used!
Pattern: Compagnie M. coat nr. 1
