Two years ago! Can you believe this? It’s been two years already since I started selling my very first Compagnie M. sewing pattern, the Mara blouse. Time flies. Never ever thought that I would have 11 paper patterns by now. Time to celebrate this joyful event with a 2nd Compagnie M. sewing contest! A contest that is open to everyone, has 3 categories (levels) and 9 prize packs worth 3.195 euro in total!!!
Some more details maybe… Since our sewing patterns are unique in this way that you can easily mix & match most of them, I’d wanted to make this the contest’s theme. But I didn’t want to exclude beginners and more advanced seamstresses, that’s why in the end I created 3 categories / 3 levels:
- Plain & simple: are you a beginner? Than this is probably your category: all garments sewn with only one Compagnie M. sewing pattern will be categorized in this section.
- Mix & match: since Compagnie M. patterns are designed to be mixed & matched, I wanted to stress this unique concept! When you use two or more Compagnie M. sewing patterns without adding anything else, you will participate in this category. The idea is not to change anything to the pattern pieces but to combine them in a unique way. An example of this concept is my own Louisa – Ileana remix.
- Pattern hack: I notice that the experienced seamstress often hacks patterns in sewing competitions. That’s why I’ve added a 3rd category! In this pattern hack section you are allowed to give your own twist to my patterns. You will change at least one or add at least one new pattern piece that is not part an original Compagnie M. pattern. Just make sure that the garment is still recognisable. An example is my own Charles dress.

Hope you feel like celebrating our birthday together with us by participating in our contest? One that invites you to push your boundaries. On your own level. :) This contest is open internationally and you are allowed to participate in more than one category with several creations! We’ve set-up a new contest blog page like the one we had before (if you can’t find the new one, there are not entries yet!). When you send us an email with your creation and a short text we’ll put these blogposts online for you. (More info in the competition rules). You can enter till the 25th of October 2015. This gives you 4 weeks to participate (and me 4 weeks to focus on the development of the Louisa for women ;) ). Afterwards a jury of fabric shop owners and bloggers will pick the winners. But do stay tuned: this contest will provide a lot of inspiration and of course a small part for the score (20%) will be given by you. After the contest has been closed, you will be able to vote for one week. And then there’s no way back: 9 winners will receive one of the amazing prizes!
