This project was in my mind for ages already! I knew one day I had to flip my own Charles pants pattern into a pair of dungarees! Well, at the sewing weekend I finished my first test. I don’t think if I need to add a lot of text? These pictures speak for themselves, right? Maybe just this small note: relaunching the Charles pants will be my next project. Adding this dungaree option is….. not an option but a must according to me. I hope you like my plans? Otherwise, please tell me know! ;) Don’t ask me about timing. I have decided that although sewing became a part of my work, it still has to stay fun. So I don’t want to stress myself by promising a release date yet. Carpe diem!
Of course these dungarees are not perfect yet. It’s a first test version. I will still change the back, but Nore thinks it already ‘rocks’! What do you think?

I love dungarees – all of my children wore/wear them to bits and it’s my favorite piece of clothing for little children.
I never found a great pattern for sewing ones myself (there are some great vintage options, but I couldn’t get my hands on these) – looks like that’s going to change :)
I love the leg feet (slimming not baggy) and the side panel! So many cute details, already :)

I’m very happy to hear that you are relaunching the Charles pants! I love the pattern (it’s at the top of my to-sew-list)! I also love dungarees and think they are soooo adorable on little kids – especially with this vintage touch to it. But to be honest, I have my doubts that my 4,5yrs daughter would still wear them. She got really picky when it comes to clothes… I think it would be great if you could button the top part on (and off) the pants (dod you know what I mean?)- then the kids can decide for themselves how they want to wear the pants – and you can also influence the style. What do you think?
Ik vind dit wel heel mooi. Het moet gewoon gemakkelijk zijn om naar het toilet te gaan. Zeker bij de kleintjes. Maar zelf ben ik zot van een salopette.
Love it! Ook de stoffenkeuze van dit exemplaar. En de dagen dat ik niet wil dat Zanne een tuinbroek kiest, moet ik ze echt verstoppen in haar kast. Ze gaat altijd met haar kont draaien als ze ze pas aan heeft, heel grappig, genieten van het gevoel van ‘vrijheid’ veronderstel ik. ;-)

Supermooi! Zelf zou ik de pijpen iets breder maken en het zijstukje en de onderste knopenrijtjes een tikkeltje hoger laten komen, maar dat is natuurlijk heel persoonlijk.
Hey Lielebeesje! Ik heb de pijpen bewust smal gehouden. Ik vind ze zelf wel mooi zo en ik wil door de retrostijl zeker niet te dicht bij de Jacob broek komen… De knoopjes kan je plaatsen waar je zelf wenst! Bedankt voor je lieve feedback en je eerlijke mening! M

Geweldig schoon! Maak ik direct voor mijn dochter. pijpen zijn goed zo, houden zo zou ik zeggen. ik zou alleen de rug wat aanpassen: wat smaller maken, is mijn inziens eleganter. Maar ik ben fan! Mooi werk!
