Fliegfederfrei – Mara goes vintage Hy there, my Name is Nina and i blog over at fliegfederfrei .
Today, is my turn, at the Mara blog action. Needless to say, that I`m super excited. Compagnie M Patterns are something special, i just love the unique designs. All of them, are made with so much care to details. What a joy to sew!
I made a few little chances to the pattern. I added a hidden zipper at the back and instead of the mara sleeve options I decided to go for the cap sleeves of the Lotta dress. I didn`t attach buttons to the front yoke, after inserting a zipper it wasn`t necessary anymore. Therefor, I created pintucks. I didn`t want the bias binding to be visible so I sewed it to the inside. As my dress isn`t lined I finished the cap sleeve and the hem like that as well.
The fabric, you probably already know from this gorgeous Lotta dress sewn by Marte. I had this fabric in my stash for a while, I bought it once locally. When I tried to pick out the right piece for my Mara dress, I couldn`t resist. It seemed to be just the one. I love the color of the print. And it`s a nice quality.
I sewed up a size 1Y for my 10 Moth old girl. She is quite tall for her age. I`m pleased with the fit!
Did you see all the nice Mara`s during this blog action? It`s amazing, so many bloggers from around the world are showing their creations. That`s so much inspiration. Do you sew-along? There a few nice prices to win! If you don`t have the pattern already you`ll receive a 10% discount on the Mara blouse pattern during the action. Just use the code: MARA-ACTION.
I`m so happy with this little dress! If you like my dress as well, hop over to Fliegfederfrei and stay a while. Thank you Marte for having me here today. Nina
