When you follow my blog since the beginning, I don’t have to tell you that I love An’s work a lot! So when I was invited to participate in the sew along of the Perfect Pattern Parcel, my choice was easily made. I fell in love with this Hanami dress An made with her Mailbox Surprise fabric. What a beauty. When I saw these pleats at the front I just wanted to knock it off! So that’s what I did.
This dress was finished ages ago so I’m glad that I can finally show you my first Hanami. It will surely not be the last! Same for the Petit Pan fabric. First time I used these gorgeous fabric and it will surely not be the last! I don’t love all Petit Pan fabrics, but I think I will visit this beautiful shop again soon.
Nore was absolute not in a photo-shoot-mood, but it was Bjorn standing next to me that made her laugh! Throwing her pig to him was such a nice game to her. I love the result.
I love everything about this dress. What a pity that I have sewn one size too small. But in the meanwhile this dress has been sold already and I have the impression that the mother of the new owner is very happy with the result as well…. I think I’ll just make a new one in a bigger size!
I changed the closure of the dress, just because I didn’t have the right zipper (and a big stock of buttons). ;) This closure will be an option in my new Lotta dress as well.
Sleep tight princess Nore. My darling!
To finish some practical details: The Hanami pattern is for sale at Straight Grain or now also in the Perfect Pattern Parcel nr2. An has written a tutorial on this pleating technique so you can easily make this dress yourself!
