I’ve sewn this remix pattern in the past but the dress turned out too short and in the end also too small… A pity because it was one of our favourites! It ended up as sewing room decoration. :)
I took the same recipe and made a 2nd remix dress. Once again with an old Cotton & Steel fabric. One that I only recently bought, but was designed for the autumn 2014 collection. One that I’m deeply in love with. I start to use Cotton & Steel fabrics more often and I love the quality. Not only the cottons are amazing to work with, the rayon is expensive but absolutely worth the money. To be continued soon!
For the contrasting pieces I used the leftovers from this project. An amazing fabric to work with. It’s actually the 3rd time that I use it and now it’s almost finished. What a pity!
I used this FREE tutorial (Dutch or English) to make the dress! The basic dress is a Louisa, I added the button placket from the Ileana, the pocket flaps from the Nina and this free new pattern piece for the shoulder decoration.
Since it was my first dress after a long holiday, it took me ages to cut the fabrics. Sewing up the dress was done in about 2 hours. I can still sew. Yes! I tried to match as many stars as possible and it turned out ok.
Lisa is super happy that she can wear her new dress for the school photographer tomorrow. Smile!
Although Lisa is only 5,5 years old, she lots 2 teeth while we were in Scotland. So the tooth fairy has visited her twice now. She even got the change to fly with her with some fairy dust! (She really in convinced that she did!)
Some ‘new’ thrifted boots and she has a first autumn outfit!
She feels like a princess. Can I blame her?
I think she’s just stinking cute with her new dress. A new favourite has been introduced I guess…
Perfect for sleeping, just hanging around or playing!
With her vintage kitchen… Thrifted! What else! ;)
Waaaauw, that is indeed a gorgeous dress! I can imagine she feels like a princess!! Fabulous fabric, and such a nice dress! And already 2 teeth, that goes fast! Love your vintage discoveries!!
Thanks a lot Barbara! Before we left on holiday we redecorated our living room with vintage discoveries and we love it a lot. It makes an interior unique. :)
Wow! Geweldige jurk!
Thanks Carolien!
I really like this dress. The fabrics go so well together. Awesome print matching :) Love the fact your patterns are interchangeable :)
Thanks a lot dear Jenya! I love your latest creation too! :)
how did i miss this post… lisa is the cutest in that gorgeous dress! a lovely mix and match! and the fabric, swooning!
Thanks a lot Nina! She loves it too. :) That’s why we all sew, right? To make our kids happy!
