Today I’m presenting the last Louisa dress option. Next to the big kangaroo pocket, I wanted to have a 2nd alternative pocket wise. :) The kangaroo pocket is what makes the Louisa so unique, but I can understand that you don’t want a kangaroo pocket on all your dresses? So this way you can create 3 totally different looks with one pattern.
I’ve split the side front panels and integrated 2 pockets. Not on the same height… (yes, this was on purpose) Since this option is explained in a tutorial, you can make this dress symmetrical too. In fact you can place the pockets where you want. You can even add two pockets on one side.
This is the 3/4 sleeve by the way! But you already noticed that. Haha!
And did I mention before that the Louisa is the perfect dress for color blocking? I used a thin jeans fabric from De Stoffenmadam and used both sides of that one fabric. A small touch of leather and I have an extra dress that I can combine with everything in my closet. Since the front and back panels are both split in the middle of the shoulder seams, the fabrics match here.
On Monday I have a last feature that I want to show you and then I’m ready for the big day. I was a bit overwhelmed by the enthusiastic reaction. Thanks a lot to every one for all the kind words. Publishing your own patterns is extremely intensive. I’ll show you the process towards a new pattern in detail one day, but after sewing 4 muslins and 6 wearable dresses, I can assure you that I’m super happy that the launch date is approaching. :) Thanks for all your support! x
