Liebeling – A Mara with capped sleeves

Hi everyone, I’m Florentine from Germany and I blog over at The Mara Blouse had been a long time on my sewing list and when Marte asked me, if I’d like to participate to her big Mara blouse blog action I immediately said yes. I really love this amazing blouse pattern with all those lovely details and its vintage touch. I found it quite hard to decide, how I wanted to sew the blouse.
Finally, I went for a simple and clean Mara without additions, appliques and other alterations. I found a perfect lightgrey cotton in the furthest corner of my wardrobe. The cotton is very light weighted with a texture near to burlap, perfect for those lovely tucks. As contrast, I combined darkblue piping, buttons and seams. Because I never, never can resist to give a pattern a personal touch, I decided to sew the Mara blouse with capped sleeves. And what shall I say? I really, really like the result on my little birthday girl. Thank you, Marte, that you asked me to participate in this Mara Blog Action! Hop over to my blog to see more pictures.
Cheers, Florentine
