I had an idea that I could extend the central part of the Louisa dress pocket to create a full front section. And I played around with this idea, creating a front panel with eight pintucks to add lots of extra fullness at the front.
This is in linen blend, and I wanted to create a very nostalgic, vintage blouse with modern clean lines that are so distinctive of the Louisa. And those pockets are so useful! I had to fiddle about to retain the pockets, but worked it out!
I raised the split across the back higher, added a button closure, and pleats to the back section, plus an asymetrical collar. This is a little big on Missy, but is exactly the nostalgic slightly rustic look I was after. There are lots more pictures and details over on my blogĀ http://as-it-seams.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/louisa-dress-becomes-pin-tucked-piped.html
I loved creating this! Thank you Marte!
