When I launched my Louisa dress in German, I received some awesome fabrics from Pamela, one of the Lillestoff designers. She asked me if I’d be happy to try to sew my dress in her jersey fabrics. Of course I wanted to, but since these fabrics are supposed to stretch and the Louisa dress is a wide model, I adjusted the pattern for a perfect result. Next to these changes, I added the cap sleeves from the Lotta pattern to this Louisa! I love to mix and match patterns, but you probably already knew that!
For my 3,5 YO girls, I started from the 2YO pattern and adjusted the length to the 4YO size. This way they can still enjoy there dress for a while!
I didn’t only receive this beautiful Bloomy Dream fabric but also some coordinating yellow fabric for the lining. While sewing I realised that I didn’t had some stretch piping so I experimented a little bit and created my one way to get this piping effect without using something to ‘fill’ it. I promise you that I’ll show my little trick when I’m back at home… :)
I didn’t want to work with a blind zipper so I choose to go for a button loop closure!
We had such a great time taking these pictures! Lisa loved the idea of playing with the hay… I guess these pictures don’t need any further explanation?
