This is the 4th Maggie Mae dress I’ve ever sewn. Can’t deny that I still love this dress! Although technically it’s not the most sophisticated pattern, I’m always happy with the result when it’s finished. Just like last year, Lisa’s birthday dress will be a Maggie Mae. I think we have a new tradition here… It’s a beautiful dress that is super easy to sew. The model suits Lisa perfectly well!
I’ve sewn a size 4 but Lisa’s chest size is smaller then the standard size, so it’s a little bit too large. To be honest I wanted her to be able to wear this dress for a long time. I even made a double seam, this way I can make the dress about 2,5 longer when it becomes too short!
I choose a Soft Cactus fabric that I got from Hotstof. I try not to buy too many fabrics anymore, so when I had a close look at my personal stash, I didn’t have a lot of choice. I do think this Soft Cactus matches perfectly with the 2 coloured corduroy from Supercut. See, no need to buy new fabrics. Help me to convince, that I don’t need new fabrics! Please? All these fabric shop have such beautiful new collections, but I still have a lot in stock. ;)
Just a last important small note: I’m happy to be back on a normal working rhythm. More time to blog, more time to read blogs, a bigger chance to get inspired for a new project. :)
