Mesewlovely – Ready for the Summer Holidays with Mara, Jacob and Léon!

By Sunday,27 July,2014Mara-contest

Hi, I am Nathalie and I am very excited about participating in this Mara blog tour! The Mara blouse is a great pattern, suited for every season. I already made a Mara dress for Christmas last year, and now I’ve made a few to take with us on the Summer Holidays. The pattern has so many options, that I couldn’t stop after making just one version. So for now, I will be showing you 4 of my creations! For the first one, I chose the option with butterfly sleeves.

I combined the blouse with a selfmade headband and some shorts (you can read more about these patterns on my blog: http://www.mesewlovely.blogspot.be

Don’t you think the frog buttons are just the cutest?

For my second version of the Mara blouse, I used the option with fluttered sleeves.

As a finishing touch, I used golden piping and bias binding and some red heart-shaped buttons.

My daughter insisted on closing the buttons herself, and so she tried…

and only after fifteen minutes or so, she finally let me do it…

BTW, the trousers are also handmade, so if you don’t recognize the pattern, be sure to hop over to my blog for some more information (http://mesewlovely.blogspot.be).

And we’re not finished yet! I also made a Mara dress.

To make it look a bit more glamorous, I added blue satin piping and bias binding. But to keep it playful, I decided to add the little bears for buttons.

Finally, I also made a Mara sweater. Perfect for an evening walk at the coastline…

The long sleeves are an option that is already included in the pattern, but I replaced the buttons with zippers.

I also added a collar.
