My Mara dress

By 10/02/2014Contest - Jan 2014

The Mara blouse is one of my favourite sewing patterns ever, but I wanted to add something of my own, something that maybe Marte hadn’t thought … it was tough, but in the end I found what could be missing: a pleated skirt.

Sewing this version I really had lot of fun. First of all, I liked the idea of creating a dress that reminded a little sailor, or a college student, but for a two years old girl. The changes were few but substantial: I added a pleated skirt (after a long and exhausting ironing), I played with the pleats on the front, sewing them to the lower hem andcreating a zigzag effect, and I attached two self drafted short sleeves, to use the dress in spring (this denim is rigid too rigid for long sleeves). I hope you like it!
