Today I launch the Janne dress for girls from 1yo – 10yo! After reading all the sweet comments on this blogpost and on social media, I had the feeling that launching the pattern was the only option. Thanks for that little push I needed to release a new sewing pattern.
The Janne dress is an A-line dress with integrated pockets and pin tucks. The oversized collar is an obvious eye catcher that makes the Janne the perfect party dress pattern. You can sew a sleeveless Janne or choose to add short sleeves. The dress closes at the back with buttons. You can mix and match this pattern with one of the Ileana or Judith dress collars.
As the timing for this project was rather short (I wanted to launch the pattern before Christmas!), I decided to launch it only as a PDF version. Going to the printer would have delayed the project too much….
The pattern is available in English and Dutch! As an A4 or on A0. So you can still have the pattern printed in your local print shop if you don’t like to tile the Janne dress pattern yourself.
You can purchase the Janne dress pattern with a 10% reduction with the code ‘letssparkle’. The code is valid till Christmas. So you don’t have an excuse not to let your girl sparkle just like Lisa!
I would like to thank my testers team. Totally out of the blue they tested the Janne with a lot of enthusiasm. Since the weather is not that ideal for taking pictures, it will take some time for them to make perfect pictures… To be continued!
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST: I want to give Leentje a big hug! It was her dress that was the inspiration for this project. With her permission I could launch this pattern. Hooray! Let’s all thank her! We started brainstorming about this project in September and I’m so happy that a couple of months later I found the energy to launch it.
Note: this pattern is designed for knits BUT you can sew the dress also in woven fabrics. The only thing I didn’t test yet is the drape of the large collar. I’ll make a test version soon. If you want to use the dress for woven fabrics I advise you to cut the collar in the bias direction OR to add a collar from the Ileana dress or Judith dress pattern.
