Today I’m launching the Louisa dress of women. Both on paper and as a PDF pattern. I’ve been really looking forward to this moment. Ever since I launched the Louisa for girls, I got the question to release this one. That’s already two years in fact. But you know how that goes: I wanted to loose weight first. :) So finally I did and the Louisa dress was of course the first project that I wanted to realise.
The Louisa dress by Compagnie M. is a vintage inspired pattern with a modern twist. Unique pockets and two sleeve options make this a versatile pattern. Add lining according to the season and enjoy this pattern the whole year round.
Two pocket options:
- Big kangaroo pocket
- Asymmetrical pockets (tutorial)
- Of course you can sew this dress without pockets too. This is the basic dress.
Two sleeves:
- Cap sleeve
- ¾ sleeve
Peter Pan collar
I didn’t show you this extra feature so far. The Peter Pan collar. I don’t like this one in combination with the kangaroo pocket (that’s personal of course), but I do think it can make a basic Louisa dress a perfect basic alternative.
Lining / facing:
- Fully lined
- Facing
And last but not least you can choose between a fully lined dress or you can just finish it with a facing. This makes the pattern perfect for summer and winter.
In the instructions I included an extra chapter on how to adjust the pattern to make the dress fit perfectly. I show you how to adjust the length by splitting the pattern in 3 pieces, how to combine different sizes, how to change the height of the bust point and how to make a full bust adjustment. Eight extra pages that will guide you to a perfect dress!
Sizes:
This pattern includes more sizes! From 30 – 50. 11 in total. I changed the sizing chart for the 2 smallest sizes, zo make sure to check it before you start sewing. AND I added two larger sizes. 48 and 50 are new sizes that I added to the Louisa dress pattern.
Fabrics:
The Louisa dress is designed for woven fabrics without stretch or you can also choose fabrics up to approx. 7% stretch. The only difference is the seam allowance at the side seam. :) I didn’t try the pattern for jersey yet, but I will do a test one of the coming weeks. Promised! And one of my testers tried Punta di roma, that’s an option too. :)

With the code LOUISA10 you get a 10% discount on the PDF or paper pattern. At the moment the pattern is available in Dutch and English. I will release it in French and German in about 3 weeks.

Waw! Ik heb al zolang een Australisch stofje liggen, helemaal meegebracht uit Melbourne, maar vond maar niet het juiste patroon om er de schaar in te zetten. Tot 5 seconden geleden! En als ik lees dat er aanpassingshoofdstukjes bijgesloten zijn, dat wordt het er alleen maar beter op. Me happy on a monday morning (zeldzaam ;-)). Bestelling is on its way!

Getest en meer dan goedgekeurd. Dankzij dit toppatroon heb ik er een perfect zittende jurk bij in de kast. Ik weet al wat ik ga dragen tijdens de feestdagen. Vandaag probeer ik foto’s te nemen van mijn Louisa. Nu de zon nog eens komt piepen moeten we ervan profiteren!

Had wel weer te enthousiast besteld en daardoor achteraf pas de mail gezien, dan is die 10% maar een extra voor je harde werk en tijd dat je erin stopt! :-D

Ik denk dat ik ga toehappen, jouw exemplaren zijn echt supermooi! Meestal, vooral bij de vrouwenpatronen, kijk ik echter graag nog iets meer de kat uit de boom, dus hoop ik op een pattern tour? Komt die er nog? Ik ben heel benieuwd… en ik betaal natuurlijk met plezier die 10% extra om nog een beetje zekerder van mijn stuk te zijn :-) in elk geval wel alvast een dikke proficiat met al het werk en met de launch!! Ik vermoed dat dit een topper wordt!!

Ik heb al 2 nieuwe versies in gedachten, zeker nu ik lees dat er ook een mogelijkheid (en ongetwijfeld een duidelijke uitleg) is om het volledig te voeren.
