Pattern launch: the Nore dress

By 24/04/2017Blog

Pattern launch alert! Today I’m releasing my very first dress pattern… for knits: the Nore dress. But actually I could say Nore dress and T-shirt as the dress can easily be shortened.

The Nore dress and T-shirt by Compagnie M. is a versatile pattern with many options. You can colour block and add integrated pockets, which are both beautiful and functional. At the back you can repeat these inserts or keep it plain & simple. This way the Nore dress makes a great nightgown too. Shorten the Nore and you will have a nice T-shirt. All these options can be finished with short or long sleeves and with a straight or curved hem. The possibilities are endless!

The basic pattern options are quick projects. A simple Nore dress or T-shirt is ready in one evening. The general shape of the Nore dress is a subtle cocoon dress with a curved hem (I did add a tutorial that shows you how to finish the dress or T-shirt with a straight hem.)

As always, my pattern includes several options:

  • Two front panels: with OR without inserts and integrated pockets.
  • Three back options: plain, with inserts or split in two.
  • Short and long sleeve option.
  • Can easily be shortened to a T-shirt.
  • Also makes a nice nightgown.

Personally I’m a big fan of the inserts with the integrated pockets. I love it when a design detail is functional as well. And of course you can tell again that I love colour-blocking! When you split the back at the top, you have so many options! Not mentioning how beautiful the pattern looks when you use striped fabrics….

The pattern comes with a version WITH or WITHOUT seam allowance. As a PDF or on paper. It’s up to you!
