Pattern release: the Susanne cardigan for girls, teens and women! + a first reversible version!

The Susanne by Compagnie M. is an open cardigan with big folded pockets. You can finish the unique front panels with a contrasting fabric, a facing, bias tape or a simple rolled hem. Play with piping or go all the way with a two-in-one reversible version. Choose a short or long Susanne, for summer or for winter. This way you can enjoy this pattern year-round.

The Susanne cardigan comes in two size ranges: the girls pattern from size 1 – 10yo or the teens & women pattern from size 30 – 50. This means each pattern includes 11 sizes, or 22 in total. My gosh. Did I draw those? Unbelievable… ;)

The pattern options are exactly the same for both patterns: first of all the Susanne comes in two lengths (short or long version), you have several options to finish the pockets (without finishing, rolled hem, bias tape, contrasting facing or contrasting pockets) and last but not least you can go all the way and sew a reversible 2-in-1 Susanne.

Just for you to know: Suzan is my sister’s name. Susanne is her pattern now. I adjusted the name slightly just to make it more ‘international’. ;) Actually it’s because of my sister that I started to sew, so the least I could do was to call one of my patterns after her.

Today I show you my 2-in-1 reversible Susanne. From the moment these two Chat Chocolat fabrics were presented, I knew they would match my pattern perfectly.

On the outside I used the Copper delight sweater fabric.

On the inside the matching jersey. Or was is the other way round? There’s no inside or outside. You can just turn this one inside out! ;) But how does that work?

Well, at the back, I added an extra contrasting back panel that you can close with buttons. You open the buttons, fold the back over to the other side and close them again. This means I have two button rows: one on each side. Don’t forget the sleeves and you have a completely new look.

I added this extra back panel both for the long and short version. I have a reversible short one, my girls a long version. Stay tuned for more pictures later this week!
