Hello there, I’m Carla and I blog over at Rita Pirolita, my blog is named after my daugther as she was the reason I started sewing in mid 2008. I’m sooooo excited to be here sharing my version of the Mara Blouse, but also a bit sad that this amazing summer of Mara(s) is coming to an end. I loved seeing every version on the Mara Blog, and was actually inspired by some of them. I was really hesitant about what fabric to use as I wanted my Mara to be really really special, but then I found a well hidden treasure burried deep down in my stash – Liberty “Hearts” – a special edition print for the V&A exbition – Quilts 1700-2010. I have this fabric since 2010, and do not regret that I used it for this outfit. I am in looooove.
I knew I wanted a dress and I wanted it short, like a Mod style dress. I think I achieved my intentions and I do believe my little Miss looks very posh. So, what should a posh girl do with her new dress? Well, take it to town, of course.
We took a stroll in downtown Lisbon…
We went shopping…
Saw silly exhibits on the street…
Acted silly too…
…and sat down resting in one of the many city benches. (we also went for ice cream, but the dress wasn’t in proper shape for pictures after that) We had fun !
What a beauty ! The fabric is lovely and I love short dresses!
Thank you so much Mieke. The fabric holds a special place in my heart, I love Liberty prints, but this one is extra-special.
