Summer knitting…. for this winter + an important question for you!

By 04/09/2017Blog

Every summer I knit a lot. Just because I can’t take my sewing machine with me on holiday, I can do this everywhere (also in the car!) and most of all because I love to combine my two passions as much as possible.

This spring I showed you my free Janne dress, but what I noticed is that it’s actually not so practical when the kids are feeling too hot. And since the heating at their school is always working overtime, I wanted to knit a sweater version of this dress.

I bought this stunning Rowan wool at Clara’s wol. It’s a combination of alpaca and merino. Can’t get any better then that, right?

For this new this sweater I moved the kangaroo pockets from the skirt to the sweater and just removed the skirt. Easy as that! This way you get a basic sweater with a pocket that can be used for both boys and girls. Lisa and Nore are in love with their new sweater. I love both the material and the colour. Of course!

It’s a perfect match with this stunning Nani Iro fabric that I bought at Julija’s shop. A left over from this project.

At the moment I’m looking into the possibilities to launch this pattern but of course I would only develop it when you love the design. What do you think about the idea? Would you be interested to knit your kid a sweater like this? It’s knitted with needles nr 10 ( I used two yarns to get the right thickness) and I finished it in about 6 evenings! A fast project, don’t you think?

Thanks a lot for stopping by and for your honest opinion!
