Today’s pattern tour participant is one of my personal favourites! Just because I think Laurence’s style is so perfect and totally not what I would come up with myself! I really had difficulties to delete one picture from the series she had send me, just to be able to make a good lay-out. What a task! Laurence has a relative new blog that’s called Ptits Monstres, one I definitely have to add to my reading list! Done!
A few weeks ago, I made some baggy pants for my 4-years old girl. I used a really light fabric with a floral print. Not without risks, I must admit, because she usually prefers dresses. But this time, I wanted her to have something comfortable yet stylish to go out and play. And she loves it! But what to wear with these new pants, when all she has is a wardrobe full of dresses? Then I came across the Julia sweater pattern. Eureka!
Finding the right fabric for the sweater was actually easier than expected. When I saw this striped jersey, I knew we had a winner. I just love the combination of the flowers and stripes and the colors match perfectly. The back is in one piece, but for the front of the sweater I used the fabric of the pants in just one sleeve only.
To be sure my little fashionista will be as convinced as I am about this cool, urban-chic-meets-comfortable-playwear look, I added a touch of pink -of course- in the sweater as well at the edge of the pockets of the pants. Did you notice the matching sunglasses? Now she is ready to rule the playground in style!
Thanks Laurence for participating! That’s what I love about the series: discovering new talent! And a talented lady you are for sure. Love this sweater, the pictures and your new blog!
