When I was sewing the first Swing skirt, I already had another skirt in mind. I wanted to draw two different type of skirts based on the same pattern. But afterwards I changed plans. Why drawing another skirt, when I can turn them into another type of garment easily! Here’s the story! As you probably noticed, I love pockets. Big round pockets, asymmetrical pockets,… For this second swing ‘skirt’ I played around a little to make some pockets with a twist. The left one is a ‘faux pocket’ the right one ‘the real thing’.
The fabric I’ve used are exactly the same as for the first swing skirt. I even made my own jeans piping. I’ll be posting a small tutorial on how to make your own piping soon! To skirt or not to skirt is the title, because actually on first sight you might think this is a skirt, but it isn’t! I used the same basic A-line skirt to start from, but flipped it into some culottes. For the rougher type of girls!
cute! but only a (little) almost 3 YO here, so that won’t work :)
Fun, fun!
I have a 4 year old but, unfortunately, we live very faraway…
